Getting started with CrossFit is simple at Central Bucks CrossFit!

Everyone’s path at Central Bucks CrossFit will be slightly different depending on their current fitness capacity, goals, and preferences.

Your first step is to come in and try it out. We offer a FREE, private trial session. Or, sign right up for our Roots Program and learn all the basics in order to get to comfortable before transitioning into our daily classes.

Give us a call or send us an email and we’ll set up a time to have you come in and try us out.That’s the only way to know if it’s for you. Nothing will make sense until you do. You’ll know instantly if we’re the kind of gym you’ve been looking for your whole life.

We’ll show you round the gym, teach you some of the fundamental movements and then run you through a CrossFit workout. If it’s your cup of tea, then the next step is to choose which program option to enroll in.

As new members come in, we highly recommend they begin with our Roots Program that is designed to take you through the basics of the CrossFit exercises and prepare you for better results. After these classes you’ll have a better grasp of the movements we perform here at Central Bucks CrossFit.

The movements we perform are based in gymnastics, weightlifting, and sprinting.

The extraordinary value of gymnastics as a training modality lies in its reliance on the body’s own weight as the sole source of resistance. This places a unique premium on the improvement of strength to weight ratio. Unlike other strength training modalities gymnastics and calisthenics allow for increases in strength only while increasing strength to weight ratio!

With weightlifting, we use compound, multi joint weight bearing movements that are functional. Natural movement typically involves the movement of multiple joints for everyday activity. The importance of functional movements is primarily two-fold.

First of all the functional movements are mechanically sound and therefore safe. Secondly they are the movements that elicit a high neuroendocrine response.CrossFit athletes dramatically enhance their performance exclusively with functional movements. The superiority of training with functional movements is clearly apparent with any athlete within weeks of their incorporation. The soundness and efficacy of functional movement is so profound that exercising without them is, by comparison, a colossal waste of time.

After the conclusion of the Roots Program you’ll feel more confident entering our group classes. This is where the action happens, the positive vibe of the group, working hard, competing against others and with themselves, simultaneously encouraging and motivating each other. Our aim is to have you into these classes as soon as we think you are ready, while still scaling the workouts to your ability. The most important function of this first month is to safely prepare you for the intensity of full blown CrossFit.
